Yes I measured the drop at the tangent point of
the rear tire. Basically I drew the bike up on
the computer and rotated the swing arm up until
the back wheel had moved 4 inches vertically.
Then I measured between the shock mounts and that
is how I got the 8.131 dimension. Well, I'm keep-
ing a close eye on the frame and like I said one
bolt did break loose. I retightened it with my
foot!! and I'm going to apply loc-tite. Chrome
struts should come out real nice. I'm only 26
years old but I might be able to keep up with you.
Let me know when you're ready and I'll cruise down
there. Do you ride dirt too? Because I also
ride dirt and I know there's lots of good places
to ride around Mojave. I'm going to measure the
seat height on my bike but I don't know what the
stock height was. Basically, on a weekly basis I
make some kind of mod. It seems like you think
the same way. Are you a machinist too like me?
I have a small lathe at home and access to all
kinds of machine tools except surface grinders.
Well I have a feeling you'll go with the 8.25
strut. The difference in drop between yours and
mine I'm sure wouldn't even be noticeable for an
eighth inch. By the way I think I can still go
down at least another half inch w/o rubbing. Good
luck let me know when you mount the strut and
what you think.
